Why Paddy Wagon Films?
Well, just because. Paddy Wagon Films was founded in 2005 by Patrick ‘Paddy’ Sheridan and Diana Roland for the sole purpose of creating interesting and entertaining moving picture stories. Sometimes funny stories. Sometimes sad stories. Sometimes both in the same story. It’s an Irish thing, after all.

Patrick has worked on more than 30 motion picture projects, including short movies, documentaries and feature-length films in Washington, D.C., Vancouver, B.C., and Denver, CO. He is a respected script analyst and local script doctor, as well as a much sought-after screenwriting, filmmaking and acting teacher. He has optioned two feature-length scripts and has several other scripts currently ‘under consideration’ or ‘in development’ with various production companies.

Diana does what every great producing partner does: She supports the creative process in any way needed, while making sure the money is spent in the right places...and she looks after their two great kids, Elliot and Finnegan, when the cameras are rolling.

Paddy Wagon Films believes in the power of collaboration. It’s no surprise then, that, Patrick and Diana have relied on the most talented people in the Denver metro area to bring their movies to life. Simply put, they know what they’re good at and they trust others with the rest.

So what’s a Paddy Wagon?

Paddy: A shortening of the Irish name Patrick (from Padreigh). Usually a term of endearment (Patrick’s mother often called him Paddy Waddy). Also used as a slur against people of Irish decent.

Wagon: A horse-drawn vehicle with a large rectangular body, used for transporting loads; a police van for transporting prisoners; a child's low, four-wheeled cart hauled by a long handle.*

Paddy Wagon: The term ‘paddy wagon’ evolved in the late 1800s as major U.S. cities deployed their emerging police forces (often comprised of Irish immigrants) to round up Irish and others who had consumed too much alcohol. The paddy wagons were also used to keep immigrants from reaching voting booths.
